Shah Rukh Khan on Changing Emraan Hashmi’s Image in His Netflix Series Bard of Blood
Shah Rukh Khan, who has produced the espionage thriller Bard of Blood, has expressed his views on changing Emraan Hashmi’s image in the Netflix series.
Bollywood superstar and producer Shah Rukh Khan has shared how he wanted to change actor Emraan Hashmi’s image in the upcoming Netflix original series, Bard of Blood. Emraan plays the role of an Indian intelligence officer, Kabir Anand, in the espionage thriller. Speaking about Emraan’s image, SRK, who has produced the series under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, said, “Initially, we were joking about how Emraan’s image is going to turn a serial kisser to a serious kicker. Emraan is a tough guy. Kabir Anand’s character is that of someone who is not in-your-face tough, but has a macho personality and works with his mind plus there is a physical ability of an action hero and I think that mix perfectly fits Emraan.”
Bard of Blood is based on author Bilal Siddiqui's book of the same name. It is the story of Indian spy Kabir Anand (code name Adonis), who is part of a mission to rescue Indian special agents being held in Pakistan. Alongside Emraan, Sobhita Dhulipala is playing an analyst Esha Sengupta and Vineet Kumar is portraying the role of a special agent Veer Singh. The cast also includes Jaideep Ahlawat, Rajit Kapur, Kirti Kulhari, Amyra Dastur, Shashank Arora and Suhail Nayyar in important roles.
Actress Sobhita Dhulipala also spoke about the series recently, saying, “So when you come down to it, there are these three people who are so hard to be strong in the face of fear. It's a very human story. It has political undertones. There's a historical angle attached to it and the conflict, and I thought it was a very interesting script." The seven-epsiode show, directed by Ribhi Dasgupta (of TE3N fame), will premiere on Netflix on 27th September 2019. It is Shah Rukh Khan’s first production for Netflix.
