Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been on a break from acting in films and has been seen spending quality time with his family at restaurants, at his daughter Suhana’s recent college graduation and now at his family vacation in the Maldives. Shah Rukh last appeared in Zero, directed by Anand L. Rai, opposite Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. But after the failure of this big project, the star took time off from acting and has not signed any new projects in the last seven months. However, Shah Rukh has been going through different scripts and the latest buzz is that he might opt for an idea suggested by filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani.
The director -- who has made films like 3 Idiots and PK with Aamir Khan and Sanju with Ranbir Kapoor -- had previously wanted Shah Rukh to be play the lead role in his film Munnabhai MBBS in 2003, but the superstar wasn’t keen about the script so the role went to Sanjay Dutt. However, it seems that now Shah Rukh has finally liked the concept shared by Rajkumar and may be signing his film, although there has been no official confirmation yet.
Recent speculations also said the 53-year-old superstar would be seen in Rakesh Sharma’s biopic, Farhan Akhtar's Don 3 and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's biopic on Sahir Ludhianvi, but he rubbished all such rumours at a media interaction, saying, “I have no film with me right now. I am not working on any film.” While speaking to a film magazine recently, he also said, “Usually what happens is when your one film is coming to an end, you begin work on your next film and I get involved within 3-4 months. But this time I am just not feeling like...My heart doesn't allow me to..I just felt that I should rather take time out, watch films, listen to stories and read more books. Even my kids are in their college stage...my daughter is going to college and my son is about to finish his studies. So I just want to spend more time with my family."
