Malayalam cinema’s biggest superstars - Mohanlal and Mammootty - were in Dubai on 10 January for the Ujala Asianet Film Awards at Meydan Hotel and joining them was Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan.
Busy SRK was having an extra hectic day, he tweeted late on the night of 10 January, “Landed in Dubai rushing to awards. Would have been faster, damn shirt is not ironed!!! Tried duty free, where is an iron when u need one?!!”
Once he was at the show though (of course, he made it and his shirt looked fine), it was magic. He even got Mohanlal and Mammootty to do the lungi dance from his top hit Chennai Express on stage. SRK tweeted this pic of the trio with the message, "And the lungi dance goes to Kerala & it's most loved sons. Mamukka & Laletta. Extremely gracious.”
Shah Rukh, who won the International Icon of Indian Cinema award at the event, posted later, "To be given so much love by Mammootty & Mohanlal sir. Felt like crying receiving so much kindness from artists who inspire me to be an actor".
SRK loved his Dubai trip obviously, tweeting, "Like a dream…like walking on a secret night on an empty road…like feeling a touch for the first time like drinking from the eyes…like love. Heading back to Mumbai, all issues of life seem small. I felt so proud to be an actor tonite. Thank u all & Allah for giving me so much love."
Back home in Mumbai, he was still thinking about his Dubai trip. “Raat ka nasha abhi aankh se Gaya nahi…..I am still in the reverie of last nites love…thanx Asianet & all the Mallus,” SRK posted on his Twitter page with the pic below.
