Blockbuster film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ was everyone millenial’s favourite. From featuring Bollywood’s favourite jodi from the late 1990s and early 2000s – Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol Devgn – to gaining critical as well as commercial acclaim, Karan Johar’s directorial debut is still loved by fans today. The hit project clocked 20 years of its release in Indian cinema last year. The entire cast and crew reminisced their respective journeys while shooting for the film, shedding light on the good times they shared together. In latest news, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ will receive a special screening at the 10th edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne in August (IFFM).

Stating that it is an honour for his film to be chosen, the ace filmmaker shared in a statement, "It's been a very rewarding 20 years of a journey and time well spent telling stories and having the freedom to be a storyteller.” Karan continued, “Filmmaking is my passion and the deep rooted love I have for cinema and being here in this time to be completing two whole decades is very gratifying."

Released in 1998, the film starred popular on-screen couple Shah Rukh and Kajol. Actor Rani Mukerji featured in a supporting role, while superstar Salman Khan made a guest appearance. Talking about IFFM, Karan said, "I have been to the festival before and I have loved being there. I'm looking forward to another opportunity to celebrate Indian cinema in the land down under." Karan will also have an elaborate conversation on cinema with the Australian audience at the film festival. Shah Rukh will also attend the festival as the chief guest. The gala will be taking place between August 8 and August 17. Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ is also headed to the festival. Her brother and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar made the announcement on Instagram last week.
