It’s CONFIRMED! Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is all set to lend his voice for Mufasa in the Hindi version of The Lion King. The actor took to social media and shared a poster of the film, in which he will be playing Simba’s father.
“Glad to be a part of this journey... a timeless film. Voicing it in Hindi with my own Simba. The last time we did a film was around 15 years ago and it was ‘Incredible’ and this time around its even more fun. Hope everyone enjoys it 19th July onwards,” he captioned the post.
Shah Rukh Khan will be joined by his own son, Aryan Khan, who will be collaborating with the film and lending his voice for Simba’s character. As per a recent interview, both Shah Rukh Khan and his son are excited for the film. The actor also revealed that his youngest, AbRam is a huge fan of the Disney classic. “I hope families can make some happy memories together, watching The Lion King, as much as my family had fun being part of it,” Shah Rukh expressed.
Yesterday, the ‘Zero’ actor took to Instagram and shared a picture of himself and Aryan donning India cricket jerseys with the words ‘Simba’ and ‘Mufasa’ printed across the back.
The remake of Disney classic The Lion King is a live action film helmed by Jon Favreau and is being produced by Karen Gilchrist, Jeffrey Silver and Jon Favreau. The film’s trailer was a huge hit with fans and many are excited for its release. For the Hollywood version, Seth Rogen, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Oliver, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, John Kani, and James Earl Jones have lent their voices to the characters of the film.
