Shabnam at Lux Style Awards 2019: Saba Qamar Almost Cried After Meeting Her
Shabnam, Lollywood’s living legend, was present at Lux Style Awards 2019. Top actresses Saba Qamar, Meera and Maya Ali paid a tribute to her
One of the highlights of the 18th edition of Lux Style Awards was the presence of Lollywood’s living legend Shabnam, who has had an active acting career as a leading lady in films, in the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s. A Bangladeshi and Pakistani actress, Shabnam has appeared in 170 films (including 152 Urdu films, 14 Bengali and 4 Punjabi films) and recently made a comeback in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, with comedy drama series Mohini Mansion Ki Cinderellayain. She will also be starring in Aina 2, directed by Syed Noor, which will be a sequel to her 1977 film Aina.
Shabnam arrived in Karachi on Sunday morning specially to attend the Lux Style Awards ceremony, with fans and media tweeting her happy photo from Karachi Airport: "Shabnam, the legendary actress who has been gracing Pakistani cinema for the last few decades finally arrives in Karachi for #LSA2019!"

Actress Saba Qamar — who looked regal in her white dress at LSA — was overwhelmed and teary-eyed as she met the still-glamorous Shabnam at the award show; the 76-year old actress was clad in a gorgeous black-and-gold sari, with a gajra around her perfect bun, carrying a small and fancy black clutch bag. Saba, along with two other top actresses Meera and Maya Ali, paid a tribute to Shabnam’s prolific work in Pakistani cinema, via a dance performance choreographed by Nigah Jee (behind-the-scene pictures of the dance rehearsals were circulating on social media since the past couple of days revealing the hard work that went behind this performance). Other Pakistani celebs, such as Faysal Qureshi and Atif Aslam, also posed for pictures with the legendary actress, who received a lifetime achievement award in 2012 in a ceremony organised by PTV.
