Saudi Arabia Has 17 New Cases of Coronavirus, Total Reaches 62
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health announced 17 new cases of Coronavirus in the kingdom who are under treatment at the moment.
According to the statement released by the Saudi Ministry of Health released on Thursday, there are 17 new cases of Coronavirus in KSA which sums up the total to 62. These 17 new cases include a Saudi who had been in contact with a patient, a resident who came to KSA from Portugal via Turkey, a Saudi who had travelled from Iran via Oman, a Saudi woman who stayed in Turkey first and Lebanon later, two women who had travelled from Iraq, and 11 Egyptians who were in touch with a person tested positive with Coronavirus in their home country Egypt.
The Saudi Ministry of Health has called for any person who travelled to the countries greatly affected by Coronavirus to contact the toll-free number 937 and report. The Ministry also urged the citizens and residents who wanted to know about the Coronavirus to contact the Ministry as only the official sources were reliable enough for the authentic and accurate information regarding COVID-19.
Earlier, the Saudi government had announced a shutdown of schools across the kingdom along with a travel ban to Europe Union and many countries including Pakistan, India, and UAE as well. It also banned shisha throughout the kingdom. The Government had announced a fine of up to 500,000 Riyals for those who did not disclose their complete travel and health details. More than 4,613 people have died and over 126,000 have been infected globally, according to the WHO. About 68,000 victims have recovered, according to Johns Hopkins University which is tracking the virus.
So far Coronavirus has resulted in 4613 deaths across the world and 68,000 have recovered. It was declared a medical emergency by WHO. Coronavirus started in Wuhan China from a seafood market. Since then it has become a pandemic that has taken over the entire world by storm. Italy is the European country which has suffered most due to Coronavirus. So far the number of registered Coronavirus cases in Italy is 15,113 with more than 1000 deaths.
