Actor Sara Ali Khan cannot live without working out. Known for her successful weight loss journey, the budding starlet and daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh is an inspiration to many young girls. She recently revealed that she never skips her fitness regimen and does not allow anything to come in the way, be it family gatherings or work events. She also shed light on the importance of looking after one’s skin. Speaking at a recent event, Sara said, "Between shoots and workouts and now Diwali celebrations, it’s easy to forget about our skin. So I strongly advocate going back to the basics," Sara said. Sara then weighed in on six tips for a healthy and fulfilling life.
1. Don’t exercise just to shed weight
The best way to get glowing and well-nourished skin is by sweating it out at the gym. According to Sara, it is the most beneficial way to detox. “No matter how caught up I am with work or family commitments, I always include at least 30 minutes of workout in my routine. My day just feels incomplete without that,” said the Simmba actor.
2. Eat well but most importantly, eat right!
“The besan ladoos, chole bhature and kulfis feed the soul, I agree!” she added. However, Sara mentioned that it is important to keep food servings in check and eat healthy in order to avoid pimples, blemishes and dull skin.
3. Less is more
She then gave a very important lesson which holds true in almost every aspect of life. “I strongly believe in this mantra, beauty lies in minimalism and being true to yourself. Keep it subtle, keep it original and wear your confidence,” shared Sara.
4. Hydration is key
“Always make sure to keep your body and skin hydrated. Drink enough water and moisturise your skin well. For me, putting on a sheet mask is the quickest way to hydrate my skin while I am shifting gears from hectic shoots and early morning rehearsals to late-night card parties with my friends,” stated Sara. She mentioned that while too much and regular makeup makes the skin look unhealthy after a while, exfoliation and moisturisng is extremely essential. She recommended performing this routine right before hitting the sack at night!
5. Give time to yourself
“The festive season can get chaotic. Grab some me-time not just for you but also for your skin. Kick back, relax, put on a sheet mask and chill! Trust me, all it takes is 15 minutes and your skin will thank you for it,” mentioned Sara. Will you follow suit? We’re sure we will!
6. Snooze away; you’ll never lose!
“Don’t compromise on your sleep! Eight hours of sleep is ideal but try to get at least six hours of shuteye during the festive madness,” said Sara. She however, did point out that the worst thing girls can do is fall asleep without removing makeup. “This can cause instant breakout!”
