Bollywood is full of many big star families. Whether it’s the Bachchans or the Chopras, most actors and actresses hailing from these famous families, have often proved to be worthy of being on the big screen – while some, not so much. Likewise, the Kapoor family is also full of numerous stars and this time around, we’re not talking about Raj Kapoor’s family, but the other Kapoors. While Boney Kapoor is a filmmaker, the likes of Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Harshvardhan Kapoor and several others have already made their way to the silver screen. Sanjay Kapoor is a prominent member of the Kapoor family as well, who is not moving on to very mature roles. His daughter, Shanaya Kapoor, much like her cousins, might be making her debut on screen very soon too.
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, the actor spoke about Shanaya and if she is ready to make it to Bollywood yet. He said, "Nothing is finalised yet. If the right project happens tomorrow, Shanaya is ready for it." He added that it was his daughter who made him understand why she shouldn't take acting classes. "Shanaya told me that going to the film school would be a waste of 3 years and reasoned that most attend classes for 3 days and party for the rest of the week."
In an earlier interview, Sanjay had also spoken of his daughter trying to learn a few things. He shared, "She is learning the ropes. She is taking her acting, dance and diction classes. In our family, she has watched me, her uncle and cousins closely. She knows hard work matters. You can be anybody’s daughter or niece but it is going to be your dedication that will take you ahead." Shanaya is currently serving as an assitant director to cousin Janhvi's upcoming film, Gunjan Saxena under Karan Johar's banner, Dharma Productions. The film also features Angad Bedi and Pankaj Tripathi and will release on March 13 next year.
