Salman Khan's 'Race 3' Gets Censor Clearance in 24 Hours

The film was apparently submitted last Wednesday and cleared in a day!

Miracles do happen. No further  proof of this is  required than the swiftness with which the new Salman Khan starrer Race 3 was cleared  by the  Censor Board Of Film Certification(CBFC) in less than 24 hours.

This, despite the  CBFC  rule that films need to be submitted 65 days in advance. Says a source in the know, “That rule has been bent  repeatedly for different films including  for Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai. Now for Race 3, the producers approached  CBFC  on Wednesday. The  film was cleared with a ‘UA’  by Thursday afternoon, despite a few minor verbal modification that the Examination Committee  demanded.”

Clearance of a  film at such a short notice  despite modifications  is quite rare. Apparently the  recently-appointed I &B Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore has instructed  the  CBFC to clear films as fast as possible and with as  few cuts as  possible. “This is  why  the masturbation sequence in Veere Di Wedding which has been censored in several Middle Eastern countries was  allowed to stay in India. Mr Rathore has  recommended a hands-off policy for  the CBFC,” reveals an  informed source.

In the past, films have been stuck rather notoriously at the Censors’ table leading to losses and heartburn for the makers.
