Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3: Prabu Deva Shares Working with Salman Khan in the Film
Salman Khan and Prabhu Deva will reunite after 10 years for Dabangg 3, following the success of their 2009 blockbuster, ‘Wanted’. The former was also grateful to Salman for trusting him with his directorial debut back in the day
Salman Khan is a director’s actor. With a massive fan following, the Bollywood superstar has belted out great performances one after another in the recent past. However, it wasn’t too long ago when box office collections were not in his favour. There was a time when Salman had to face the wrath of fans and critics alike, for delivering a number of flop films including God Tussi Great Ho, Yuvvraaj, Main Aurr Mrs Khanna and London Dreams. He came back into form with the block buster, Wanted.
The 2009 hit was helmed by ace filmmaker Prabhu Deva. Many years on and Salman will be working with the acclaimed director once again on his upcoming film Dabangg 3.
In lieu of this, Prabhu expressed great fondness towards Salman in a recent interview. He said, “It has been 10 years since then, and I don’t want to look back. It’s been a great experience. I don’t take any credit because who am I to rediscover Salman Khan? He is a superstar. I was new to Bollywood then and he was a superstar, and he trusted me so much.” Prabhu revealed fans have been awaiting a sequel to Wanted ever since the release of the first installment. “There are no plans for Wanted 2 for now, but you never know what the future holds for you. For now, I am working with Salman again in Dabangg 3 and that’s a great opportunity for me.”
Dabangg 3 also stars Sonakshi Sinha and Arbaaz Khan and will release on December 20, 2019. Directed by Prabhu, ‘Wanted’ was produced by Boney Kapoor and starred Ayesha Takia, Vinod Khanna, and Prakash Raj. It became the second highest grossing film of Salman’s career. Earlier it was reported that Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan will take on the director’s hat for Dabangg 3. However, Salman was quick to rubbish the rumours at the time. Speaking about how he chooses to sign a project, Salman said, “Whenever a film-maker approaches me with a script, first thing is that, I need to see myself doing it and till the time it doesn’t happen, I don’t sign a movie.” We hope Salman and Prabhu’s luck strikes again with the upcoming film!
