Who can ever forget Salman Khan as Radhe from the super hit film ‘Tere Naam’? Not only did his character become one of the most sought-after in Indian cinema but his signature ‘Tere Naam’ hairstyle was adopted by many of his fans. If recent reports are to be believed, filmmaker Satish Kaushik is all set for a sequel to the 2003 blockbuster. While rumour had it that the project is headed towards a reboot, the director has now revealed that he has been brainstorming ideas. Avid movie watchers are now speculating that Salman will be roped in for ‘Tere Naam 2’ and will reprise his role from the original. Well, wouldn’t we all love that?
Talking to a leading publication, Satish revealed that he has begun thinking about the next installment. "I know the audience is waiting for it, I have something on my mind, but I haven't sounded out Salman yet. For now, it's all about ‘Kaagaz’," said Satish.
Released in early 2000s, ‘Tere Naam’ tells the tale of two lovers Radhe (Salman) and Nirjara (Bhumika Chawla). It ends with Nirjara committing suicide and Radhe renouncing the world and returning to the ashram where he was being treated for his deteriorating mental health. While Satish is yet to approach Salman for ‘Tere Naam 2’, he has collaborated with the actor for ‘Kaagaz’. Salman remains close buddies with Satish and will also be producing the latter’s upcoming film. "The film is very close to my heart and I am grateful to Salman for supporting my vision. After ‘Tere Naam’ I couldn't make another film with him and I am glad that we have collaborated on this one," added Satish Kaushik. Meanwhile, Salman is busy getting into shape for ‘Dabangg 3’. The next schedule of the film is set to go on floors soon.
