Salman Khan Controls Suraj Pancholi's Fate in Bollywood
Will Salman Khan retain or replace Suraj Pancholi in the 'Hero' remake?
Suraj Pancholi first made a splash in Bollywood when Salman Khan decided to launch him in the remake of Subhash Ghai's 80s' superhit 'Hero'. The new version was a collaboration between Ghai's Mukta Arts and Salman Khan Productions. But after the controversy surrounding his alleged involvement in Jiah Khan's suicide, all bets about Suraj's future in T'Town are off.
Suraj, the son of Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, is still in jail on charges of abetting Jiah's suicide.
Ghai recently told the media that neither Suraj Pancholi nor Athiya Shetty (Suniel Shetty's daughter) had been confirmed yet for male and female leads in the 'Hero' remake and that the ultimate decision would be Salman's. Ghai added that he could not say for sure if Suraj would be a part of the movie or not and that the details were yet to be decided. What he was sure about was that Salman would decide the final casting and also the director.
Salman, who is currently busy with brother Sohail's next movie, seems in no hurry to take a decision on the casting. Sources reveal that Sallu is in talks with Aditya Pancholi and that the chances of him backing out of launching Suraj are slim. The superstar apparently wants to wait until Suraj is out of jail and then decide.
Pancholi Seninor, booked himself for allegedly assaulting his neighbour, is not ready to comment yet, insisting that he is not the right person to discuss the casting of the remake. "It is better if you speak with Salman or Subhash Ghai about this and whatever they say is right," Aditya said.
Meanwhile, Suneil Shetty has said that the movie is not affected by whatever is going on and is set to start. He also admitted that he was not worried about Suraj and Athiya working together despite the present situation and that it would not affect their debut movie together.
