Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif just appeared in ‘Chashni’ from their upcoming film Bharat and we gotta say, it’s the perfect ode to old school romance. Sung by Vishal, Shekhar it also features vocals by Abhijeet Srivastava. The lyrics are done by Irshad Kamil and the choreography is done by Vaibhavi Merchant.
The song begins with Salman’s voice narrating how Indian cinema had found its Rajesh Khanna as a hero but how our protagonist, Bharat, was ‘old school’ and a fan of Dilip. In Katrina’s character ‘Madam Sir’ he had found his ‘Saira Bano’. In its lyrics and its melody, the song is very reminiscent of an old school ballad. It’s catchy and soft at the same time and we have a feeling it will be climbing the top charts very soon.
Katrina, dressed in gorgeous colourful plumage, dances on sand dunes and tries to eat a jalebi. In Tiger Zinda Hai we saw Bhai painting a collage for her on ice in the Atif Aslam song ‘Dil Diyan Gallan.’ In ‘Chashni’ we see Katrina Kaif’s character drawing up a beautiful rangoli out of flowers. Nice little homage there.

Salman Khan’s earlier song ‘Slow Motion’ featured Disha Patani and was an ode to Salman Khan’s brand of cinema: funny, easy-speak lyrics and all about Bhai’s swag.
