Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone are two leading stars of Bollywood who are highly in demand. After Salman Khan announced his film Inshallah with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Alia Bhatt, rumors have been afloat about Salman Khan signing a film with Deepika Padukone, who has long been Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s favorite.

Deepika recently won an award for her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Padmaavat.

“Deepika is a big star, so it has to be worth her while to do a film with me,” said Salman. He clarified, however, that “right now, there is nothing” which must break a lot of hearts in the fandoms. Salman Khan was speaking to DNA India when he was asked about working with Deepika Padukone. Salman stated with a smile, “Actually even I’m wondering when will I work with Deepika?”

“No one has come forward to cast me with her,” said the Dabangg star. “In Bharat, Katrina Kaif is my heroine. She will also be my leading lady in the third part of the Tiger series. In Dabangg 3, there’s Sonakshi Sinha. In Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick 2, I’m paired with Jacqueline Fernandez.”

Deepika Padukone is set to appear in Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak in which she will be playing a character of ‘Malti’ an acid attack survivor. The film is based around the life of Laxmi Agarwal, a young woman who was attacked with acid when she was 15 years old.

According to DNA India, Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone may have appeared together in Sultan, Kick 2 and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. It was also noted that for Deepika’s first film, she may have been paired opposite Salman instead of Shah Rukh. She has reportedly said that,  “Whichever film I do with Salman will be a special one.”
