Saif Ali Khan’s next web-series Tandav will be based on Indian politics
Saif Ali Khan shared that his next Netflix venture Tandav will be on Indian politics along the lines of House of Cards
Saif Ali Khan is one of the biggest stars in Bollywood. The actor started his career in 1993 with Parampara. Throughout the span of his career, he starred in many films such as Ek Tha Raja, Kya Kehna, Main Khiladi Tu Anari and some of his biggest hits which included Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Hum Tum. He also ventured into the digital medium with Sacred Games last year, and fans of the show have been lauding her performance even more. While the first season of Sacred Games was loved by audiences more than the second season, Saif is now gearing up for his next digital venture.
A new web-series, revolving around the lines of House of Cards which starred Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, Tandav is all set to hit screens, which will star Saif in the lead. The actor said that the show will be a political thriller but on Indian politics and set on a massive scale. He shared, “I don’t want to use American examples, but it’s along the lines of House of Cards, although set within the framework of Indian politics. The plot takes into account various factions like Dalit politics and UP cops and the whole nexus between them.”
In Tandav which is helmed by famous filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar, Saif will essay the role of an Indian politician. Speaking of his role, the actor stated, “My character is Chanakya-like, in the guise of a youth leader who comes from a privileged background and aspires to become the prime minister.” While there is still some time for the Netflix project to go on floors, Saif will be next seen in Laal Kaptaan which is set to hit screens on October 18. He then has a number of projects lined up such as Jawani Jaaneman with Tabu and Taanaji opposite Ajay Devgn.
