Eros International and Aanand L Rai's Colour Yellow Productions have unveiled a poster of their upcoming production, Saif Ali Khan’s new action-drama film, titled Laal Kaptaan. The producers shared the poster on Instagram with the following caption, “Blood in his eyes, revenge on his mind, he's out to kill! #LaalKaptaan, in theatres from 18th October. Stay tuned as the HUNT reveals tomorrow.” Saif appears in a different avatar, with long hair and a beard, and a sword in his hand as he marches forward fiercely. His look in the poster is being compared by many netizens to Johnny Depp’s famous character, Captain Jack Sparrow, from Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Several people are commenting on the poster, calling it “copy paste” and saying the movie looks like a “low budget” Pirates of the Caribbean.

In the movie, Saif plays the character of Naga Sadhu, a man seeking revenge. In an earlier interview with DNA, Saif had revealed how he had been growing his hair and beard for the movie. The film, which was previously titled Hunter, also stars Manav Vij, Zoya Hussain, Deepak Dobriyal, Simone Singh and Saurabh Sachdeva in vital roles. 

The makers of Laal Kaptaan have also shared a teaser of the film previously, which showed Saif Ali Khan applying ash to his forehead, with Har Ram Ka Apna Raavan, Har Ram Ka Apna Dussehra playing in the background. Directed by Navdeep Singh, Laal Kaptaan was earlier scheduled to release on 11th October but the makers have now postponed its release to 18th October. Saif Ali Khan was last seen as an honest police officer Sartaj Singh in season 2 of Netflix original series Sacred Games. He also has several other projects in the pipeline, including Bhoot Police, Jawaani Jaaneman and Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior.
