Saaho continued with its successful run at the box office on Sunday, the third day of its release. The Hindi version of the multilingual film collected approximately INR 30 crore, breaking the record of first Sunday collections of other major Hindi movie releases of 2019, including Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh (INR 27.91 crore), Salman Khan’s Bharat (INR 27.90 crore) and Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal (27.54 crore). A solo release on Friday, 30th August, the film earned INR 24.40 crore on the first day, despite some morning show cancellations, and became the third highest opener for 2019 after Bharat and Mission Mangal. It earned INR 25.20 on Saturday, which means that the Hindi version of the Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor starrer has collected approximately INR 79 crore within three days.
The film was released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam simultaneously in India as well as overseas. It collected a total of INR 101 crore gross on the first day (for all languages), which made it the second film after Bahubali 2: The Conclusion to make more than INR 100 crore within the first day of its release.
The high-octane action drama is not only creating magic at the domestic box office but also in the international markets. In the United States, it has grossed more than USD2 million while earning AUD 732, 318 in Australia and NZ$100, 936 in New Zealand. The plethora of negative reviews by various film critics seems to have had no impact on the film’s business. Written and directed by Sujeeth, the film was made with a big budget of INR 350 crore and also stars Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Chunky Panday, Mandira Bedi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Arun Vijay and Murali Sharma in important roles.
