Ronit Roy had separated from his wife when his daughter was very young and he often misses his now grown up daughter who resides in the United States
Television and film actor Ronit Roy is currently married to Neelam Roy with whom he has three children. However he was also married to a woman named Joanna with whom he had a daughter called Ona. Ona is now 28 years old and resides in the United States. Ronit recently opened up about her in an interview to a news outlet and talked about how he deeply missed his daughter.
"I have stories of her embedded in my mind,” Ronit Roy said speaking to the news magazine. “When she was six, she would say that every time she saw an airplane fly, she thought I was in it. Those words never left me.”
Those words can indeed be haunting for a father to remember. Ronit spoke about his feelings as a father as he recollected the words, “You can call it my failure as a father, but I don't fault-find anymore. The pain has transformed into a realisation that this is how it is meant to be. I channelised this experience into my craft."
Ronit and Joanna separated when Ona was only six months old. "I have seen up close what a child goes through in the absence of one parent," he added.
Ronit currently stars in Alt Balaji’s Kehne ko Humsafar Hai. In a case of life imitating art, his role is of a father who remarries but misses his daughters from his previous marriage. When asked about the role, he replied, "I don't want to sound condescending or pompous, but I can't be dishonest. This wasn't challenging. I am at that stage in my life where I have seen it all."
