Robert Pattinson Confident About Playing Batman
Robert Pattinson shared that he’s doing a lot with his character in the upcoming film, Batman
Robert Pattinson is all geared up to become the next hero of Gotham as the new Batman movie moves a little more closer to its release date of June 25, 2021. The cast for the movie sees Andy Serkis play Batman’s famous butler Alfred Pennyworth, while Zoë Kravitz has been casted to play Catwoman aka Selina Kyle. Paul Dano will play Edward Nygma/The Riddler while Colin Farrell is rumoured to star as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin. However, with so much star power already pumped into the movie, all eyes will be on Pattinson and the question will be whether he will be able to take up the mantle of Batman as aptly as his predecessors did.
Pattinson, in a recent interview with Empire magazine, said that he wanted to push the boundaries of the character of Batman and believes he can do ‘crazy stuff’ with it. “In terms of the character itself, I want to push it as far as it can possibly go. And I think Matt Reeves does as well. You can do crazy stuff with that part,” Pattinson told. The actor believes giving an R-rating to the movie helps the filmmaker with experimentation and it frees one from holding themselves from doing a lot of stuff.
“The only thing that’s more complicated is the rating. As soon as you make something an R-rated movie, you’re freed up to do so much stuff,” he shared in the same interview. The movie is touted to bring hoards of Batman villains together and with the plot still unrevealed, there is a lot left to be known about the project which is being directed by Matt Reeves, who wrote the screenplay with Mattson Tomlin. Recently, photos of the Batman set were also leaked online where there can be seen a setting of a funeral.
