Veteran Bollywood actor, Rishi Kapoor flew to New York with wife Neetu Singh late last year, with reports stating that the star had travelled the seven seas to receive medical treatment. While his family was earlier very hesitant on sharing information of his wellness, they later stated that the actor was suffering from a kind of cancer, which is why it was important for him to get the best treatment and take a break from acting. But for someone who has been in the industry for decades, acting comes as second nature and you start to miss it if you've been missing from the game for too long.
Likewise, it's been almost a year since Rishi hasn't been seen on screen. However, the actor has now announced that he will be returning to India in August and get back to filming. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, he said, "I am trying to return to India by the end of August, depending on what the doctors at the hospital say. I have recovered well and I am feeling good. I must be 100% fit by the time I am back." A source close to him had also shared, "Rishi is 100% cancer-free and under the doctors’ observation for the time being. He is staying at a private apartment and enjoying life in the Big Apple. Being a cricket buff, he is also following the ongoing cricket World Cup in England and keeps discussing the results of the matches with his friends in India."
Even since moving to New York, Rishi has been visited by the who's who of Bollywood. Actors Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal and filmmaker Karan Johar have checked in on the 66-year-old.
Deepika Padukone, ex-girlfriend of Rishi's son, Ranbir Kapoor was also seen visiting the actor. Even actress Sonali Bendre, who herself was diagnosed with cancer last year, paid Rishi a visit.
Pakistani starlet Mawra Hocane was also recently seen with the actor as he shared a photo of the two of them together.
Morever, Ranbir along with his girlfriend and actress, Alia Bhatt have often been spotted checking up on Rishi. One the veteran actor's health, Ranbir had earlier said, "Whenever I speak to my father, he only talks about movies. He always asks me things like, ‘How is this film? How is this performance? What are you doing in this scene?. He also speaks to me about his insecurities, asking if he'll get to work in movies whenever he gets back. Or if he'll be offered films and will be able to act."
