Elton John is, undoubtedly, one of the most celebrated stars of Hollywood. Having won numerous accolades including several prestigious Grammys, the singer has come a long way throughout the course of his 5 decade long career. Now, the musician is all set to launch his memoir called Me in which he is sharing some of the most exciting details of his life and some horrific experiences he faced in his personal life. Being friends with the who's who of Hollywood, Elton also shed light on some celebrities that he was close with. A part of his autobiography has been excerpted by the Daily Mail, which speaks about a party in London that was organised for the former chairman of Walt Disney Studios, Jeffrey Katzenberg.
According to the excerpt, Elton had organised the party which also had Princess Diana, Richard Gere and Sylvester Stallone as guest. He shared that the two film actors were very close to fighting it out over the late Princess. Diana had separated from Prince Charles at the time, and Richard too, had ended his relationship with Cindy Crawford. Elton wrote, "Richard and Diana seemed very taken with each other. As the rest of us chatted, I couldn't help notice a strange atmosphere in the room."
The musician then stated that it was then when he noticed Sylvester. He continued, "Judging by the kind of looks he kept shooting them, Diana and Richard's newly blossoming friendship was not going down well with Sylvester at all. I think he may have turned up to the party with the express intention of picking Diana up, only to find his plans for the evening ruined." During dinner both the actors were missing, until they were found having a fist fight with each other. Their fight was soon interrupted by Sylvester soon stormed off home as Diana and Richard resumed their position in front of the fire. Elton concluded, "Sylvester yelled that he never would have come if he knew Prince Charming was going to be there."
