Ali Zafar's recent release Teefa in Trouble opened to some decent reviews and a great box-office result. Incidentally, the singer, who has been battling accusations of harrassment by fellow singer Meesha Shafi, does not seem to have had any trouble wooing the box office.
What's more, Teefa in Trouble is also in the news because it features a cameo (or rather, an extremely special appearance) by a Bollywood superstar. And that superstar is Ali Zaffar's secret friend in the Hindi film industry. They have previously worked together in Yash Raj Films' Kill Dil which also featured Govinda. The name is Ranveer Singh.
One of the plot points of the film is that Teefa — Ali’s character in the film — has a lifelong desire to open a tikka shop which he wants to call Teefay de tikkay. Now when everything else is said and done, right at the end of the film, Teefa is finally able to fulfill his wish and is able to open up Teefay De Tikkay. But guess who is the brand ambassador of his restaurant? It’s none other than Ranveer Singh!
Yes, you read that right! The movie ends with a huge billboard of Ranveer Singh shown eating a tikka and endorsing Teefay de tikkay. Talking about Ranveer’s endorsement, Ali said to Something Haute, "I told him I wanted a picture of him eating a tikka for that sequence and he said that was no issue. He took a picture and sent to me.”
As it turns out, Ali and Ranveer became friends during Kill Dill and the latter was happy to lend his endorsement for the film. Now, that's one great gesture by Ranveer, what say?
