From Asian delicacies to Italian delights, this restaurant has it all covered
Restaurant Review: Fazaris

It doesn’t get more stylish than The Address Downtown Dubai and it doesn’t get more buzzing than Fazaris, the Italian and Japanese specialty restaurant at the hotel. This Eid, Fazaris should definitely be on your to-try list if you are planning a great meal to celebrate the festival.  If our recent iftar experience was anything to go by, then we will surely be a regular visitor to this lovely restaurant in the forthcoming days.

The interiors were very inviting with its long dangling lights, beautifully embellished dessert, awesome chandeliers, candle light decorations and Arabic inspired motifs, setting the tone for what turned out to be a wonderful evening. Having been to several iftars this Ramadan, we had a question in mind - how different could this one get? After all, one doesn’t get to see too much experimentation or innovation in an iftar spread. But we were in for a surprise! Fazaris was a veritable hub with conversation, laughter and the tempting aroma of delicious food wafting through the air.

The old cliché of 'well begun is half done' rang true in every sense of the phrase. The salad counter was spectacular with a wide variety of appetisers, from the healthy grilled Mediterranean vegetables to the regular Hummus and moutable, making up for an elaborate spread. Particular mention must be made of the beetroot moutable – an absolute delight with its sweet, creamy and smooth texture - unlike any other I had tasted. The breads, especially the tomato and olive focaccia were amazing but what added the zing to it were the sauces. The olive and pumpkin tapendaes complemented the breads superbly.

The mains, of course, were a real feast – from Indian treats like the good old butter chicken to the lamb tagine and grilled, the chefs had it all covered. And thankfully, there were enough vegetarian options as well for the green thumbs. The rich dessert spread was an absolute sin but I couldn't resist digging into the yummy tiramisu and gelato for a sweet end to the meal. We couldn't have thought of a better, more delicious way to welcome Eid.
