Ratna Pathak Shah’s Old Video of Predicting CAA Protests in India is Unbelievable!
Ratna Pathak Shah is seen talking about the “first-real generation” that is “feeling hopeless” and being “misruled”. The viral video has been circulating everywhere on social media and is a must-watch!
The past few weeks have been more than nightmare for students of educational institutions across India. The rampant protests in the country following police violence at Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia University resulted in many Bollywood celebrities coming forward to condemn such acts of hate and rebellion too. While the countrywide student-led protests over the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) have settled down now, they were nothing short of hurtful to everyone. In a surprising turn of events, a video of actor Ratna Pathak Shah has gone viral, in which she predicted the CAA protests four months ago.
The video, curated by media outlet Quint, shows Ratna talking about the “first-real generation” that is “feeling hopeless” and how she feels “we will come out better”. In the video, she says, “Oh yes and great for art... maybe not immediately, may be 10 years down the line. Because this is the first time a generation is actually seeing what it feels like to be misruled.”

In the clip, Ratna addas, “Your generation is the first real generation that is feeling hopeless like the people felt just before independence — that sense of despair, how long will we carry on in this horrible state I am afraid it is going to be tough but it may be necessary and I have a feeling we will come out better because again their have never been so many educated people in India and so many young educated people in India.” Thousands of students hit the streets in various parts of the country against CAA. Among the prominent voices that spoke out against it were Swara Bhasker, Anurag Kashyap, Anubhav Sinha, Richa Chadha, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, his son Farhan Akhtar, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub to name a few. Hrithik Roshan also fought for educational institutions to be unharmed. “As a parent and a citizen of India, I am deeply saddened by the unrest across various educational institutions of our country. I hope and pray for peace to return as soon as possible. Great teachers learn from their students,” he wrote earlier.
