If you haven’t seen the recent pictures of Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh with India cricket team captain Virat Kohli, then you must have been hiding under a rock. Pictures of the two were circulating across social media after the much anticipated World Cup match between arch rivals, Pakistan and India. India took on Pakistan dfeating the boys in green by 89 runs, taking India’s winning streak to 7-0 when it comes to World Cup matches against the neighbouring country.

Ranveer Singh was spotted interacting with Harbhajan Singh, Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul and other players of the team, but his interaction with Virat Kohli caused a social media meltdown. Earlier today, Ranveer Singh took to Instagram and Twitter and shared a series of pictures of him with Virat Kohli with a heartfelt message to go with it.

“Ive been a die-hard fan of Indian cricket since childhood. Invested so much emotion into our beloved team. Willing and wanting them to be the undisputed best in the world. And then, there was VIRAT KOHLI. Ive witnessed a brash boy evolve into the very embodiment of class,” he wrote.

The Gully Boy actor went on to praise the captain, adding, “Displaying a rare brand of ferocity and passionate expression, he changed the face of Indian cricket forever. He’s well on his way to being hailed as the greatest of all time. Leading our country like a true alpha warrior. Yeh naya India hai, aur yeh banda naye India ka Hero hai. We are proud of you, Kaptaan.” Virat Kohli is yet to respond to the tribute.

The actor, who is currently in England to shoot for his next film, ’83, also shared pictures with cricketing stars Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Brian Lara, Harbhajan Singh, Sourav Ganguly, Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan.

Ranveer Singh is gearing up for his next film, ’83 which is slated for release in April next year. He is all set to play the role of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev while Deepika Paukone will essay the role of his wife, Romi Dev.
