In an unprecedented move, the Switzerland government has named a train after Ranveer Singh. The same was officially confirmed on their official website www.swissinfo.ch
The Swiss train will be called ‘Ranveer on Tour’. "The train of the MOB railway company (Compagnie du chemin de fer Montreux Oberland Bernois) on the Golden Pass line between Montreux on Lake Geneva and the upscale resort of Gstaad will carry Singh’s name until the end of October. The schedule and announcements will refer to the train as the Ranveer Singh train for the entire summer season," the press release announced.
“Ranveer hadn’t been to the Bernese Oberland or Lake Geneva region before and we wanted him to experience it. It is also a region that is not well known among Indian tourists and we hope the train will change that,” Switzerland Tourism spokesperson, Markus Berger said. As it stands, Ranveer is the first Bollywood celebrity to be honoured with something like this. “The ‘Ranveer on Tour’ train is not just transport, but an unforgettable journey that takes you on a panoramic journey of Switzerland. Looking through the huge panoramic windows of the train is a feast for the eyes as you drink in the beautiful views of tall mountains, green valleys and endless vineyards. I still remember being completely mesmerised on my first train ride last summer and I hope all our esteemed travellers enjoy this incredible ride as much as I did,” Ranveer Singh said in a statement.
