Bollywood actress Rani Mukerjee has decided to watch a cricket match live for the first time, as India is all set to play its first-ever day-night test match against Bangladesh in Kolkata on Friday, 22nd November. With this historic pink ball match, India will become the ninth test playing nation to play a five-day cricket game under lights. Rani will be attending this landmark match, which is taking place at Eden Gardens. The actress will also be seen promoting her upcoming film Mardaani 2 during the match.

As per a news report by IANS, Rani said, "This is the first time I will be watching a match at Eden Gardens. I have always heard from my parents that the atmosphere at Eden is electrifying. It's going to be quite an experience for me to watch a cricket match live. I am hoping that I too can make wonderful memories out of this day."
She said it was “another happy occasion” as she was going to “present the message of Mardaani 2 to the people present there and million others who will be watching the match through the broadcaster."

Mardaani 2 is the sequel of Rani Mukerji’s 2014 film Mardaani, in which the actress plays the role of fearless and dedicated Superintendent of Police, Shivani Shivaji Roy. She will be reprising her role in the sequel of the action thriller, which has been produced by Aditya Chopra, under the banner of Yash Raj Films, and directed by Gopi Puthran. The film, which stars Indian television actor Vishal Jethwa as the main antagonist, revolves around the subject of violent crimes by juveniles in India and how this poses a threat to young girls. The film’s official trailer was unveiled last week and Mardaani 2 will be theatrically released on 13th December 2020.
