Ranbir Kapoor Likely To Replace Shah Rukh Khan In Don 3
The third part of the Don franchise is currently in production
The third instalment of the infamous Don franchise is in the works and under production, as confirmed by producer Ritesh Sidhwani in 2017. It was later reported that Farhan Akhtar was working on the script of the film again after having written, produced and directed the first two instalments. In both the previous films Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra were featured in leading roles.
According to multiple Indian publications, Farhan may now be looking for a new lead. Wait for it..if rumours are to be believed, Ranbir Kapoor may just replace Shahrukh in Don 3. Sources claim that SRK apparently wants to keep himself away from films for the time being, following the failure of the superstar’s latest movie, Zero; which starred Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. However, reports also suggest that the star is in talks with Rajkumar Hirani for his next project.
If this all pulls through, both the actors will be swapping directors as Ranbir has previously worked with Hirani in Sanju, which turned out to be one of the highest-grossers of the year. Ranbir’s popularity as a talented actor sky-rocketed after making his comeback to the screens with Sanju, but will he be able to step into Shahrukh’s shoes to play the refined crime boss? Fans seem to think so! However, reports of Ranbir signing on for Don 3 are yet to be confirmed.
Ranbir is currently shooting for Brahmastra alongside Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Akkineni Nagarjuna in lead roles. The much-awaited film is produced by Karan Johar and directed by Ayan Mukerji.
Shah Rukh Khan on the other hand, has been in the news for the second season of his chat show Ted Talks which is all set to go on air soon. Don 3 is reportedly slated for release in 2020.
Fans, on the other hand, did not take this rumor very well and this is what they had to say:
