Ranbir Kapoor recently admitted that Jagga Jasoos had not only broken his heart but the film broke down his financial standing as well.  In a recent candid interview, Ranbir spoke about his upcoming film, Sanju and also learning to take failure in his stride. Films like Tamasha, Bombay Velvet, and Roy failed to hit the mark, but according to the star, none of them broke his heart like Jagga Jasoos did. Speaking about the difficulty he had with the film, he said, “It was a ‘very hard’ film with a lot of complications.”

Made on a budget of about Rs 120 crore, the film reportedly had a lifetime collection of about Rs 90 crore at the worldwide box-office. This film also happened to be the actor’s debut production venture which ended up in huge losses. Jagga Jasoos also starred Ranbir’s ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif as the female lead.

Ranbir wasn’t the only one upset with how the film turned out. His father, Rishi Kapoor had also earlier lashed out at director Anurag Basu for not completing the post production on time and throwing the film off schedule due to bad planning. Rishi Kapoor had earlier told Mid-Day, "Honestly, Neetu [wife] and I saw the film on Thursday, only a day ahead of the release. Till Wednesday, Anurag Basu was still mixing the film. Can you imagine that? Pritam [composer] probably delivered the music only a week before. What can you say? You (Anurag Basu) don't take an opinion from anybody. Today's filmmakers are doing this with everybody. They don't show their films before release to take opinions, and treat it as though they're making a nuclear bomb. I didn't hate or love the film. I only felt it needed to be abridged by 20 minutes. But who is going to give that opinion to them? I totally agree with Ekta [Kapoor] when she threw him out from her film. He had problems with Rakesh Roshan while working on Kites (2010). He's such an irresponsible director that he doesn't complete the film. It was supposed to release three times in the past two years, but it kept getting delayed."

It seems that this relationship between Ranbir and Anurag that started on such a sweet note will take time to weather out the issues.
