Ramadan 2019 in Dubai UAE: Iftar and Suhoor, Prayer Timings/Schedule/Timetable

Ramadan, being the ninth month of the classic calendar, Muslims observe this holy month worldwide as a period of prayer and fasting (sawm, one of the five pillars of Islam) from sunrise to sunset. Serving as one of the five pillars of Islam, Ramadan lasts about 29 to 30 days which is based on the moon sighting. The month of Ramadan is celebrated with great zest and fervour.

The General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments has released the prayer timings during the month of Ramadan for Dubai.

Please note, the beginning of Ramadan may differ based on the sighting of the moon.

Here are the Ramadan prayer timings for Dubai. However, the timings differ based on the location. For Abu Dhabi, add five minutes from these timings and Ras Al Khaimah, subtract four minutes.

Additionally, the residents of Burj Khalifa and other tall towers are called to mind the time difference depending on the floor they residing on. Apparently, it has become a known fact that Dubai’s skyscraper’s residents have to fast slightly longer, upto 6 minutes more compared to others.

The department has issued a circular saying that residents who stay between 60th and 120th floor will fast for 4 minutes more than others in Dubai.

The time difference at such heights will result in dawn prayers being held 2 minutes earlier and delay sunset and evening prayers by another 2 minutes.

The people who reside on 121st floor and higher, will have to fast 6 minutes more, as the dawn prayers will be 3 minutes earlier and sunset and evening prayers be 3 minutes later.

As seen on Prayer Time Dubai, the Holy month calendar prepared by the department reveals that the shortest fasting period will be on the first day of Ramadan, as the dawn prayer will be at 4:14 AM, and sunset prayer at 6:52 PM. Additionally, the longest day of Ramadan will be on the last day, as the dawn prayer will be at 3:57 AM and sunset prayer at 7:06 PM.
