Ram Gopal Varma to make sequel to 'Bhoot'
Does the thought frighten you?
After the big flop that was 'Department', Ram Gopal Varma has decided to go back to what he does best – frighten people! The director, who last spoke about his terrible filmmaking experience with Sanjay Dutt, has decided not to rely on the star system in the near future. In fact, the only actor he has good words about, is his all-time favourite, Amitabh Bachchan.
But you can't keep a Ramu down for long and he's already on to his next horrifying project – the sequel to Bhoot! Unlike the original cast of Bhoot, Urmila, Ajay Devgn, Nana Patekar and Rekha, this version will sport a completely new look. He says, "A six-year-old girl named Alayna is playing the protagonist and Manisha Koirala will play her mother." Produced by Nitin Manmohan, Vikram Bhatt was originally slated to direct it. But Vikram felt that Ramu would qualify better since the original 'Bhoot' was his baby.
With no camera tricks here – like he experimented with in 'Department' – the film will be shot in 3D. This is a first for Ramu and the first 14-day schedule of the film has just been wrapped up. Perhaps this will satisfy his creative instincts since he's a pioneer in the genre of horror.
Ramu's earlier record of horror: 'Raat', 'Jungle', 'Bhoot', the 'Darna Mana Hai' series, 'Phoonk', 'Phoonk 2'.
