The star-studded event -- which opens the highly-anticipated cricket championship in Abu Dhabi -- will be hosted by Indian actor Hussain Kuwajerwala. Apart from Rakul Preet Singh, it will also include performances by Pakistani singer Atif Aslam, Bollywood celebrity Nora Fatehi, south Indian model Parvati Nair and Bangladeshi actor Shakib Khan. Starting at 8 pm, the event will go on for three hours and include music, live dance and pyrotechnics.
CEO of Abu Dhabi Cricket, Matt Boucher has said that the addition of ‘a full-blown opening ceremony concert’ to the cricket tournament ‘truly embodies the spirit’ of their partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism, with the aim to ‘push the boundaries of sporting entertainment through the creation of unique global destination attractions’. The concert's tickets are available online, with prices starting from AED 25 and going up to AED 600. More than 100 international cricket players will be part of the league this year and the first match of the tournament will take place on the following day, Friday, 15th November, with the Northern Warriors competing against Maratha Arabians.
