Rakhi Sawant is known as controversy’s favourite child. The reality star has an ability to make a mountain out of a molehill and kick controversies, when it is not really required. Rakhi is known to deliver unfiltered talks and sometimes it becomes more than what the average human being can handle. As the cricket season is upon us, Rakhi decided that the best way to stay in the news would be to make a controversy out of it.
Rakhi Sawant shared pictures of her where she is shown hugging the Pakistani flag. The Indian media didn’t take kindly to it and soon she received a lot of flak for it. Several social media users wanted the immediate arrest of Rakhi Sawant and with some asking her to go to Pakistan. However, Rakhi was not disturbed by these demands. Instead, she defiantly slammed the Indian media for making an issue out of it. She questioned the Indian media as to why they don’t say anything to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who visited Pakistan and shook hands with the then PM of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif. She further asked the media to stop vilifying artists and that she is playing the role of a Pakistani girl in her next film Dhara 370. Rakhi has since deleted the post.
Well, this time around, we feel Rakhi may have made a valid point. While, some of Rakhi’s ways of putting forth her views may seem bizarre, we kind of agree that artists should not be vilified in this manner. Posing with a Pakistani flag for a role in the movie shouldn’t affect anyone’s sentiments as it was done for the role, purely. Rakhi, further added that not every Muslim is bad nor is every Pakistani bad. And this time too, she may have hit the nail on the head.
