Quarantine or social distancing is the only way of keeping away from the novel Coronavirus COVID-19. However, it is not easy being confined within the boundaries of your house during the quarantine days. With little or no social interaction, movies can provide much-needed solace. Since times are turbulent, it is better that one watches the films that make one feel good and happy. Here are the top ten feel-good Bollywood films that will comfort you during the times of quarantine.

1.     Andaz Apna Apna
Released in the year 1994, Andaz Apna Apna brings a smile whenever you watch it. And we need a dose of laughter now more than any time else! Starring Amir Khan, Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Raveena Tandon, it is interesting to note that Andaz Apna Apna did only moderately well at the box office. Due to the refreshing young cast and the interesting plot, Andaz Apna Apna became a cult film which people still love to watch over and over. 2.     Munna Bhai MBBS
Released in 2003, Munna Bhai MBBS was Rajkumar Hirani’s directorial debut which was produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. This film proved to be a turning point in Sanjay Dutt’s career which was seeing a downward graph for some time. Sanjay Dutt has played the role of a Mumbai goon who somehow gets into a medical college to become a doctor. What happens next is a comical journey which is bound to make you laugh your heart out. And oh yes, this one gives you hope like none other! 

3.     Dil Chahta Hai
It goes without saying that Dil Chahta Hai brought a whole new fresh wave to the Hindi cinema. Starring Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Khanna, Preity Zinta, and Dimple Kapadia, Dil Chahta Hai single-handedly revolutionized the films in Bollywood. Released in 1999, Dil Chahta Hai proved that gone was the time of typical Bollywood films and now content was king. Dil Chahta Hai is a story of three friends and their adventures with life. By the way, Dil Chahta Hai might become your sole reason for booking a trip to Goa once COVID-19 is over.

4.    Jab We Met
Released in 2007, Jab We Met was truly one of the best films Imtiaz Ali, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor had ever worked on. In fact, it remains the same to date. The story of a journey starting from the train has Kareena Kapoor Khan and her then-boyfriend Shahid Kapoor as the main protagonists. While Aditya Kashyap (Shahid Kapoor) is a depressed and calculated businessman, Geet (Kareena Kapoor Khan) lives her life by heart and does not think much. The music is as beautiful as the film itself.

5.      Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

The director Zoya Akhtar certainly paid a great contribution towards the tourism of Spain by making this eternal road trip film. It is a story of three friends who set out for a road trip which was initially a bachelor trip but turns out to be a journey of self-discovery later. Starring Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, and Farhan Akhtar, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is exactly the film you were looking for. Since the travel options are almost over, you can at least watch the exotic locations on screen and hope the best for the upcoming times.

6.     Queen
One cannot expect anything less than ground-breaking from Anurag Kashyap, the producer of this film. Released in 2014, Queen is the story of a young girl Rani (Kangana Ranaut) whose fiancé Vijay (Rajkummar Rao) refuses to marry her because he finds her too plain for his liking. Since the tickets for their honeymoon have already been booked, Rani does not want to waste the money and decided to go for a solo honeymoon trip. She enjoys a time of her life and later thanks her ex-fiance for rejecting her because otherwise she would not have seen this side of life.

7.     Khoobsurat
Released in 2014, Khoobsurat is reminiscent of good old times when things were not as harsh as now between India and Pakistan. Fawad Khan made his Bollywood debut through Khoobsurat where he played the character of a young prince. Sonam Kapoor’s quirkiness and Fawad Khan’s charm makes Khoobsurat a must-watch for the days you are feeling low and stuck at home during the quarantine times.

8.     Bareilly Ki Barfi
As the name suggests, Bareilly Ki Barfi is a romantic-comedy film set in the town of Bareilly where a young strong spirited girl is all set to defy the norms. Released in 2017, Bareilly Ki Barfi was a major hit. The main characters Ayushman Khurrana, Kriti Sanon, and Rajkummar Rao as well as the supporting actors like Pankaj Tripathi and Seema Pahwa were greatly appreciated for their performances. Apart from being appreciated by the critics, Bareilly Ki Barfi was a major commercial success as well. The film is real and the comedy is very much on point.

9.     Fukrey
The band of boys and a comedy of errors, this is Fukrey(2013) for you. Backbenchers in Delhi want to get into a college for which they do not have suitable grades. But since the boys (Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, and Manjot Singh) are adamant to get into the college of their dreams, they would do whatever it takes to be there; by hook or by crook. In this struggle, they come across Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Afzal, and Richa Chaddha who give a whole new dimension to their lives.

10.   Band Baaja Baaraat

Ranveer Singh as we know today is one of the most bankable actors in Bollywood, His name is the guarantee of good performance and the film’s commercial success. Banda Baaja Baaraat was Ranveer Singh’s debut film (2013) with Anushka Sharma who was still a newcomer. The film did great at the box office and both the actors became a household name in no time. As the name suggests, this film will give you an insight into Delhi weddings but from the eyes of the wedding planners.

By the way, it is not necessary that you need to watch these films during the quarantine days only. These movies also guarantee a great past time otherwise as well.
