Priyanka Chopra’s Bollywood return after three years, The Sky is Pink is creating all the buzz around town. The film will be premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 13 before it hits screens worldwide on October 11, 2019. The trailer, which was released just days ago, follows Priyanka and Farhan Akhtar’s characters, Aditi and Naren, respectively and how they deal with their chronically ill daughter, Aisha, played by Zaira Wasim. The trailer also shows Rohit Saraf, as Aditi and Naren’s son, Ishaan, who recently revealed that he was only able to pull off emotional scenes in the film because of Priyanka.
The 23-year old said, “While preparing for an emotionally draining scene in London, Priyanka just told me to be myself. She said that I had to be confident because I had gotten the part because of my talent. That boosted my morale and changed my perspective towards the scene.” Rohit added that he could connect with the film personally as it dealt with the loss of a loved one. The actor lost his father when he was just 11. He continued that he found a confidante in Shonali, who lost her son a few years ago. “I felt special when she told me that I was the third son she never had,” shared the young actor.
Speaking of how he landed the role in The Sky is Pink, Rohit disclosed that he was vacationing in Himachal Pradesh when he got a call to audition for the film last year. “One day, I just got a call for a look test and had no idea if other actors would also be there or if I had got the part. Priyanka, Farhan and Zaira had walked in and all of us were thrown in front of the camera. The photo session went on for about 7 hours. When I was leaving the set, Shonali informed me that I would be playing Ishaan.”
