It was a shocker to say the least! In the last few months, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have given the world all sorts of #couplegoals. Be it their big fat wedding or social media PDA, no opportunity has been spared to prove that they are having a fairy tale married life. Perhaps that’s why it came as a rude shock when a prominent US magazine claimed that the golden couple are headed for divorce – barely three months after their wedding! The magazine published threadbare, the details of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas' troubles in paradise and claimed on its cover that the two are headed for a nasty split.
The actress' representatives immediately got into damage control mode and rubbished the magazine's story, saying the publication had made up the entire story out of this air. In a statement to Gossip Cop magazine, Priyanka's spokesperson categorially said the entire story was "nonsense". Another source close to Priyanka’s family too laughed off the article as concocted and untrue.
So what led the previous magazine to assume that the Priyanka and Nick are separating? The text of the story that has been put up says that Nick wasn't aware of Priyanka's temper which was a new discovery for him after marriage. Recently Nick’s seen a controlling side to her, the article said. She also has a temper – that’s something Nick wasn’t aware of until after the wedding celebrations.” The questionable tipster goes on to say that Jonas’ family is “begging him to end” the marriage as they initially thought Chopra was “this mature woman who was ready to settle down and have kids,” but they now feel she’s a party girl who “acts like she’s 21.”
The magazine quotes a close family source as saying that Nick is tired of the constant partying and is not happy to over losing three million dollars over his big, fat Indian wedding. The magazine also insinuates that Priyanka and Nick don't have a pre-nuptial agreement and hence a divorce might prove very costly for Nick. However, there are some discrepancies in the story too. The magazine got it all wrong that since Priyanka is an Indian citizen, she was not eligible for alimony like an American citizen.
Incidentally, this is not the first time that the magazine has tried to drive a wedge between Priyanka and Nick. The same magazine had earlier falsely reported how Nick and Priyanka were fighting over their new house. The story was rubbished by the reps of both, Jonas Brothers and Priyanka. It seems that this is another attempt to tarnish the image of Priyanka who has made it in the USA all by herself.
In November and December 2018, Priyanka and Nick's wedding, spread over two continents and several parties, had made international headlines.
