Prince William and Kate Middleton’s to Tour the Bushfire Affected Regions of Australia
While the official details of the tours have not been announced yet, the royal couple will reportedly be visiting Australia soon
Prince William and Kate Middleton are planning to visit the bushfire ravaged towns in Australia to support the victims and meet the local heroes. According to a report by the Sydney Morning herald, their visit to Victoria, New South Wales, and South Australia is in the planning phase and the announcement will be made in a week. They are in talks with the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison to discuss the details before an official invitation and announcement is made. The bushfires in Australia killed 33 people, destroyed over 2000 homes, and killed more than one million animals. The loss experienced by the ecology is immeasurable.

Earlier when the couple wished their Australian followers a happy Australian Day on their social media accounts, they also paid a tribute to ‘the incredible strength and the resilience of all the Australian people and communities who have been impacted by the devastating bushfires.’
Also on January 5th, 2020 they released a statement expressing their shock and sadness about the Australian bushfires. Their official Instagram account said,
‘’We continue to be shocked and deeply saddened to hear about the fires that are destroying homes, livelihoods and wildlife across much of Australia.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all the people and communities who are affected by this devastating event.
We send our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who have tragically lost their lives, and the brave firefighters who continue to risk their own lives to save the lives of others.’’
Since the details of the tour have not been confirmed yet, it is still unknown if their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will accompany them.
It will be the fifth trip to Australia for Prince William and the second trip for the couple.
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s tour to Australia will also boost the country’s tourism industry that suffered on the account of bushfires around the East Coast of Australia. Bushfires have reportedly resulted in a loss of $ 5 billion for the tourism industry. According to the Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC), the number of overseas tourists booking their holidays has dropped down from 10-20%. ATEC also declared that there is a large number of cancellations in the reservations due to the bushfires costing its members from $5000 to $500,000.
