Prince William and Kate Middleton in Pakistan: The Royal Couple Listens to the Verses of the Quran in Badshahi Mosque

Prince William and Kate Middleton visited SOS Village in Lahore on day four of the royal visit. Here are the details.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have reached the Badshahi mosque, which is one of the most prominent Islamic monuments in the city. The same place was visited by Princess Diana in 1991. The couple was seen playing cricket at the National Academy of Cricket just a while ago where Kate Middleton quickly ditched her heels for white sneakers to play with the members of the women cricket team.

Prince William and Kate Middleton love sports and have also transferred the same passion to their children. Prince George’s enthusiastic reactions during the match he watched with his parents went viral on the internet. They are the patrons of football and tennis respectively in Britain. Kate Middleton is not only the patron of All England Lawn tennis and Croquet Club but also a huge fan of Wimbledon.

Kate Middleton and Prince William quickly changed into a more formal look as they headed to the Badshahi Mosque. Prince William quickly changed into his classic off white suit while Kate Middleton slipped into a silk green dress with dull golden embroidery to visit the mosque. She kept her head covered throughout the visit while having a look at the majestic mosque.

Prince William, the future King of Britain, will also become the Supreme Governor of the Church of England once he acquires the throne. Their visit to Badshahi Mosque is of prime importance as they met the religious leaders from different faiths and understand how they promote inter-faith harmony in their communities. Prince William and Kate Middleton sat down on the mosque floor as they listened to the verses of the Quran.

Badshahi Mosque was also visited by Princess Diana during her first visit to Pakistan. The red carpet for the couple had been laid a day before for the royal couple to walk from the main entrance towards the central courtyard and prayer area. Prince William and Kate Middleton will head to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital once they attend the meeting in Badshahi Mosque.
