Ramcharan Teja riding high on the unprecedented success of his latest release Rangasthalam is in no mood to slow down. Work is on full-throttle for his next untitled film directed by Boyapato Srinu. “We are working round-the-clock on the film. We’ve done a couple of days of shooting in Hyderabad. Now we leave for a 20-day schedule to Bangkok to shoot songs with my co-star Kiara Advani, and some scenes,” says Ramcharan excitedly as he prepares for the 20-day non-stop shooting.
Ramcharan’s leading lady Kiara Advani was recommended by Namrata Shirodkar, wife of Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. Ramcharan says he has no knowledge of how Kiara became part of the film. “I never take interest in the leading ladies. I am happy to work with whoever is signed opposite me.” The release date for the new film is already decided. “We are releasing the film on Pongol/Makkar Sankranti January 2019. That’s the big release date in the South, something like what Diwali is for Shah Rukh Khan’s releases in Bollywood.”
Ramcharan doesn’t want to reveal much about the film at the moment. “It is a very different world from the rugged rural setting of Rangasthalam. The film deals with a very relevant subject. That’s all I can tell you. After we return from our Bangkok schedule we will announce the film’s title.”
So is Ramcharan’s wife the very successful entrepreneur Upasana Kamineni accompanying Ramcharan? “I’ve left it to her to decide whether she is coming along. There’s nothing I’d like better than to have her with me in Bangkok for my schedule. But Upasana is a very success career women. She has her own life, her own busy schedule. Let’s see if she can accompany me.
