PM Narendra Modi is an upcoming biopic starring Vivek Oberoi. A huge controversy has broken out over the biopic as lyricist Javed Akhtar tweeted that he has not written any song for the film and yet his name features in the poster of the film.

Akhtar tweeted that he was shocked, “Am shocked to find my name on the poster of this film. Have not written any songs for it!”

This emerged into a big controversy because it is clear that Javed Akhtar didn't want to be associated with the film and might have thought his name was wrongly featured on the poster.

The film's producer soon came on board saying that Akhtar was rightfully given credit for a song that he had written earlier. The song was acquired from the film with the permission of the music company.

Here's the clarification of the producer Sandip Singh, “We have taken the songs 'Ishwar Allah' from the film '1947: Earth' and the song 'Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walon' from the film 'Dus' in our film, thus we have given the due credits to respective lyricists Javed Sahab and Sameer Ji.  T Series is our Music partner.”

Javed Akhtar hasn't responded after the clarification. The film is based on the life and times of Narendra Modi and it stars Vivek Oberoi as PM Narendra Modi and is directed by Omung Kumar. The film is set to release on 5th April across India.

Ishwar Allah was a song written by Javed Akhtar in the film 1947: Earth. The film starred Aamir Khan, Nandita Das and Rahul Khanna. Listen to the song here.
