Bollywood’s favourite, Priyanka Chopra was recently in South Africa for the UNICEF gala that took place on the 6th of May. She was part of the fund raising event to extend strong support toward the cause of child abuse.
After serving as the Unicef National Ambassador in India for 10 years, PeeCee was recently appointed the new role of the Goodwill Ambassador. Just after her MET Gala appearance, Priyanka hopped onto a flight to head straight to South Africa to fully dedicate her time toward children in need.
The actresses’ instafeed has been overflowing with pictures and videos of her trip and we absolutely love what we see! Priyanka’s genuine love and support for a cause that means so much was very visible through pictures she shared with her teaching kids how to eat sugarcane and also teaching them some incredible Bollywood dance moves.
Through her social media posts, the actress is bringing to light issues that are generally ignored due to the stressful lives we all lead. One of the captions to a picture she uploaded read, ‘’we cannot keep ignoring what is happening to our children around the world. My experience in Zimbabwe is a huge example of how the world is so desensitised to the plight of women and children. Mindsets need to change. It is not her fault!! She is not a commodity. Protect our children… they are the future.”
We’re so proud of you Priyanka! You go girl!
