Popular Telugu film actor, filmmaker, writer, philanthropist and politician, Konidela Kalyan Babu, who goes by the stage name Pawan Kalyan, turned 48 today. His nephew, actor Ram Charan -- with whom he shares a great rapport -- took to Instagram to share two pictures with his uncle; standing closely by his side in one and hugging him tightly in the next one. He also posted the following emotional message with the pictures, "Wish you a very happy birthday Kalyan Babai. Thank you for always being there for me as a friend, guide and mentor. Love you a lot!#HappyBirthdayPawanKalyan #PawanKalyan."

Pawan, who is the youngest brother of popular actor and politician Chiranjeevi, made his debut in acting in 1996 with the Telugu film Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi. His most successful movies include Attarintiki Daredi, Gabbar Singh, Tholi Prema, Kushi, Jalsa, Badri and various others. He has been featured in the Forbes India list of top 100 celebrities several times. Pawan was last seen on the silver screen in Trivikram Srinivas's Agnyaathavaasi, which did not perform well at the box office. Earlier this year, the actor left the film industry to become a full-time politician and contested in two constituencies in the recent Lok Sabha Elections, but was not successful.
