Pati Patni Aur Woh Box Office Collection Day 2: Kartik Aaryan’s Film Collects INR 20.6 Crore

Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar’s latest comedy film Pati Patni Aur Woh witnessed growth on Saturday after a good opening day on Friday

Comedy film Pati Patni Aur Woh -- featuring Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar -- witnessed a 40 percent growth in box office collections on Saturday, after an impressive opening on Friday. The film opened with estimated earnings of INR 8.5-9.1 crore, the highest opening ever for Kartik Aaryan, breaking the record of his previous hit comedy film Luka Chuppi. Pati Patni Aur Woh collected approximately INR 11.50-11.75 crore on the second day of its release, which brings the movie’s total two-day earnings to around INR 20.6 crore. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh had earlier predicted the growth in the film’s box office collections. He wrote on Twitter, “#PatiPatniAurWoh is excellent on Day 1... This, despite competing with another biggie [#Panipat], which resulted in screens/shows getting divided... Expect solid growth on Day 2 and 3... Emerges #KartikAaryan’s biggest opener... Fri ₹ 9.10 cr. #India biz.”

He also shared a comparison of the opening day business of Kartik’s previous films, “#KartikAaryan versus #KartikAaryan... *Day 1* biz…

2019: #PatiPatniAurWoh ₹ 9.10 cr

2019: #LukaChuppi ₹ 8.01 cr

2015: #PyaarKaPunchnama2 ₹ 6.80 cr

2018: #SonuKeTituKiSweety ₹ 6.42 cr

2011: #PyaarKaPunchnama - which shot Kartik to fame - had collected ₹ 92 lakhs on Day 1.”

Directed by Mudassir Aziz, Pati Patni Aur Woh is a remake of B R Chopra’s 1978 film of the same name, which starred Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta. The movie deals with infidelity in a modern context, and is set in Kanpur and Lucknow. Kartik and Bhumi have received praise for their performances. A review on Bollywood Hungama read, “Kartik Aaryan underplays his part in a terrific manner. He completely looks like a small town simpleton and it’s great to see how he infuses humour to the proceedings. His act as the shattered person in pre climax is also something to watch out for. Bhumi Pednekar gets to play a superb character and she shines! She understands her part and brings the required characteristics appropriately.”
