Parineeti Chopra as Saina Nehwal – Yay or Nay?
Parineeti Chopra will soon be seen as Saina Nehwal
Talented actor Parineeti Chopra, who was last seen starring in 'Kesari', alongside Bollywood daredevil, Akshay Kumar, will next be seen in a biopic of ace badminton star, Saina Nehwal. The 30-year-old actor and cousin of Priyanka Chopra shared an update about her fast approaching upcoming film on her social media platform, Twitter. In her informative post Parineeti revealed that she has not yet started shooting for Saina Nehwal's biopic. She went on to inform her fans and followers that she is currently learning how to play badminton. Parineeti also shared that the film is expected to hit the cinemas in October, this year. She tweeted: "Hi everyone, we have NOT started the shoot of Saina yet. I am still learning how to play Badminton! We will start in October once I get better at it!! 4 MONTHS TO GO."
Earlier, Bollywood sweetheart, Shraddha Kapoor was set to play the lead role in the biopic. She had even started filming. However, due to scheduling conflicts the actress quit the project. Earlier in the year, Bhushan Kumar, who is financing the film made an official announcement on his Twitter account, welcoming Parineeti aboard. "Delighted to welcome Parineeti Chopra on board for the Saina Nehwal biopic," he accompanied the post with a picture of the actor. Although Shraddha had begun filming last September, the shooting had to be halted soon after as she was unfortunately diagnosed with dengue fever.

Some reacted positively to the casting news.
But others were decidedly skeptical and were even negative of her acting skills.
The first sneak peak of the film was revealed last year in which Shraddha was depicted as Saina and absolutely smashed the look of the renowned badminton player. The biopic is being directed by Amole Gupte and is expected to release in 2020. In the meantime, Parineeti will next be starring in 'Bhuj: The Pride Of India', 'Jabariya Jodi', a film with Arjun Kapoor which is a Hindi remake of 'The Girl On The Train.'
