OMG! Ketan Mehta drags Kangana Ranaut to Economic Offences Wing

The Kangana-Ketan controversy does not seem to end!

Queen Kangana just doesn’t seem to catch a break. Remember the whole controversy around Kangana Ranaut ‘hijacking’ Ketan Mehta’s storyline for his film based on Rani Lakshmi Bai? The last we knew, the award winning director slapped a legal notice on the Queen actress for announcing a similar film, with a different title.

Now, according to a report on Mumbai Mirror, Ketan Mehta has approached the Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) demanding, Ranaut be booked for cheating and breach of trust.

Confirming his move, the director spoke to the tabloid saying, “We shared various versions of the script and sketch materials with Kangana Ranaut. We were shocked when we came to know that she was making the film within someone else and that’s why we also sent her a legal notice. We have been working on this project for 10 years now and it’s a labour of love. They have hijacked our project and that is not acceptable.”

Kangana’s act had allegedly caused the director to suffer a loss of Rs 9 crore, as the film had begun production based on her confirmation to be part of Ketan Mehta’s venture. Commenting on the complaint logged by Mehta, DCP Parag Manere from EOW said to India Today, “We have received the letter. We will investigate the case, and if the allegations are true we will register a case in this regard.”

In the meanwhile, Kangana has denied all allegations saying that both projects were completely different, with her lawyer, Rizwan Siddique saying, “My client knows she has not committed any moral or legal wrong, therefore such ridiculous and baseless claims or complaints will not deter her in any manner. The facts of the matter and the evidence will reveal the truth.”

Now that the matter is in professional hands, we’ll only have to wait to find out the fate of Kangana, Ketan and the film.
