Oh No! Ranbir Kapoor's 'Sanju' Will Not Release in the UAE on Thursday
Find out why the release of one of the most awaited films, 'Sanju' is being delayed
If there’s one thing all we Bollywood buffs in the UAE are grateful for, it is that we get to watch our favourite films a day earlier to the global release. However, that looks like it’s about to change!
We unfortunately have some sad news for all of you waiting to watch Sanju in cinemas tomorrow. The Ranbir Kapoor starrer will only release in the UAE on Friday, June 29, which means fans will have to wait another day to watch the much awaited biopic. Novo, VOX and Reel cinemas have confirmed this news, however the reason for it wasn’t revealed by the management. During our initial search, we found a VOX Cinema, located at Nation Galleria in Abu Dhabi showing multiple shows on Thursday, but those too were soon moved to Friday.
Our sources reveal that the reason for this is a well thought out strategy. The filmmakers planned to align the worldwide release to a common day, so audiences interested in catching the film first day first show, could do so without any spoilers.
This happened last week too with the release of Salman Khan’s Race 3. The film hit the theatres only late in the evening on Thursday and it had no morning shows. Of course, that didn’t change the fate of the movie commercially or critically.
Does this mean films will stop releasing a day prior in the UAE? We’ll only have to wait and watch. In the meanwhile, look out for our review on Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju releasing on Friday.
