Bollywood star, Shahid Kapoor is one of the finest actors in the industry. He became an instant heartthrob after the success of his film Ishq Vishq, opposite Amrita Rao in 2001. He later starred in films with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Priyanka Chopra – both of whom he dated. With films such as Haider, Udta Punjab and Padmaavat, Shahid proved his mettle as an actor, establishing himself as one of the big guns of Bollywood. Currently, the father of two is gearing up for the release of his next film, Kabir Singh, but it seems like there is nothing in the pipeline for him after it.
During promotions of his upcoming film, Shahid revealed that he isn’t working on anything after the release of Kabir Singh. He said, “I am unemployed right now because I don’t have a film and it does suck because I want to know what I am doing next! I do have too many things to do even when I am not working, so there is always something to do.” Does this mean that this might be the end of Shahid’s career? We think not, because with his performances, the actor has time and again shown that he is one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood.
Telegu actor Vijar Deverakonda who played the lead in the original version of Kabir Singh, titled Arjun Ready is also a huge fan of Shahid’s work. He said, “I’ve known Shahid to be a good actor since Ishq Vishq, and I’m sure he’s done an exceptional job in Kabir Singh, too. My dear friend Sandeep, who directed me in Arjun Reddy, is now done with its Hindi remake, and I can’t wait to see how it has turned out. Knowing Sandeep, he has probably altered the original script — amazing as it was — to begin on an exciting, new note. I want the film to be a massive blockbuster.”
Kabir Singh tells the story of a medical student who somehow gets on a path of self-destruction after he loses the girl he loves. The film’s trailer has been lauded by many fans and Shahid himself is very excited for the film to hit screens. Thee 38-year-old actor has worked day and night to change his look for the film. Earlier on during filming, he had to lose weight to play the role of a college student, and later had to gain weight as well. This just goes on to show how dedicated he is to his craft. Kabir Singh is slated to release all over the world on June 21, 2019.
