New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to be in the UAE. There is no place that does firework shows the way Dubai does. Making the night bigger and better with each passing year, the Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority has now revealed plans of special offers and first-class services to watch the breathtaking firework displays on Tuesday, December 31, aboard marine transit modes. These include the Dubai Ferry, Waterbus, Water Taxi and Abra. Mohammed Abu Baker Al Hashmi, Director of Marine Transport at RTA's Public Transport Agency, confirmed the news. While speaking to Khaleej Times, he said, "Watching stunning firecrackers from Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab and Atlantis during a charming tour of the Dubai Waterfront is bound to bring unforgettable memories to marine transit riders including residents, visitors and tourists.”

Tourists or Dubai residents that are interested in availing this service can call RTA's number (8009090) or send an e-mail to (wtbook@rta.ae). Inquires about the Water Bus, Water Taxi, Dubai Ferry and Abra tours and timings will also be entertained. Water Taxi and Dubai Ferry cruises will start from 9:30pm on December 31 and continue up to 1:30am. The Water Bus and Abra trips will run from 10.30pm until 1.30am. Al Hashmi added, “The air-conditioned Abra will offer service from the Marina Mall station (Dubai Marina) at a fare of Dh125 for adults, while children under two-years-old go free.”

Dubai Ferry trips will start from Marina Mall Station at Dubai Marina, Ghubaiba Station at Dubai Creek and Aquarium Marine Station, Sharjah. The fare is Dh300 for silver class and Dh450 for gold class, with a 50% discount for children between ages two and 10. It is free for infants. Abra journey will start from Dubai Festival City, Jaddaf Station and Ghubaiba Station at a fare of Dh125 for adults and is also free for children under two. Water Taxi will take off from Marina Mall Station at a fare of Dh450 per person. “Charting the entire boat will cost Dh4,500," concluded Al Hashmi.
