Netflix: The End of the F***ing World is Back with Its Second Season
Netflix: The End of the F***ing World is a British comedy based on a comic book series
Based on the graphic novel of the same title, The End of the F***ing World had many fans curiously wondering whether a second season was even in the pipeline or not, because of the confusing way in which the first season ended. Also, because the ending was the perfect way to give closure to the show, it didn’t make sense to further push the story for another season. Regardless, the show’s success warranted another round and the second season made its way to Netflix on November 4.
Following the lives of two 17-year-olds, James (Alex Lawther) and Alyssa (Jessica Barden) and their relationship with crime, this British dark comedy first aired on Channel 4 but it wasn’t till it landed on Netflix that the show became an instant hit. The lead characters are edgy, they are weird and they make up for an entertaining watch with their lawlessness and lack of empathy for others. They are on the run after James kills a man for trying to rape Alyssa.
Since the plot of second season is a complete spoiler for the entire show, we won’t give away details. However, what we can comment on is that the show takes a good look at the relationship between the two lead characters, it shows us how there is no absolute truth, that good people do bad things and vice versa. The show beautifully captures the complexities of human emotions and relationships.
The best part is, the show only has eight episodes that are roughly 25 minutes long so one can very easily binge watch the show in one go!
